Cockpit Modification Concept:
Companionway: Relocate the companionway to a more central location.
Existing Deck: The deck between the companionway and the existing cockpit is elevated because of the saloon below
Benches Height: Keep the benches as low as possible
Running Rigging Gap: The 6” gap beneath the benches is for running rigging to be routed back to the winches.
Tubing Backs: The tubing railing would be angled slightly for the bench backs
Canvas Bimini: We intend to add a canvas bimini over the new benches to provide shade and rain protection
Hard Bimini: A hard bimini would be installed over the existing cockpit and would allow for an optional canvas dodger
Existing Cockpit: While secure the space is very limited with a single bench along the transom
Seating Reconfiguration: Relocate the cockpit benches port and starboard and add a walkthrough to a swim platform
End Goal: Our priority is to create a safe outdoor space that doesn’t require our kids to walk the 7 feet along the starboard lifelines in foul weather
